At the time, I had never been outside of the US and I couldn't shake the urge to experience something new. I no longer wanted to wait for someone to travel with me, so I made the decision to go solo. I had a coworker who used a tour group to travel on her own to the Dominican Republic and saw that they had options for Europe as well. On somewhat of a whim I decided to book the trip as a present to myself for my birthday. The experience would consist of travelling to the UK, France, and the Netherlands respectively. Although London was first on the list, it left a lasting impression on me throughout my trip.
